The Untold Christ Story

I can say this is the start of our story as a family. In the center is mom and dad before children. If they could have seen the future what might be different. I wonder if we can see the past and learn something that will change each of our futures. A lot of time has passed and some of us may see that the future does not have much time left to make it to our hopes and dreams. 

This is story of hope, or as writers have said hope is the hero of our story. I think the one thing I hear all of my brothers and sister speak of is being with mom in heaven or for some of you - where ever her soul exists. I do not think many of us heard mom tell a personal story of Christ in her life but we all witnessed what is described in the Bible as a person with whom Christ by the Holy Spirit  dwelt. Those attributes of love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. -against such there is no law, were ever present in mom. That is the untold story of Christ Jesus. 

Many of us may have participated in   adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like. If you find that you are still part of that and desire to turn away from it and have mom's spiritual attributes of which there is no law against, then the untold story of Christ is for you this Christmas. 

Having the faith that Jesus is God come to earth in human flesh distinguishes that God the creator wants nothing to separate each of us from him. The pain of sin is experienced and the evidence that each of us has caused someone pain by our sin does require we make a choice. The choice is made after information is given. Sin is real as we experience it so knowledge of it is upon each person. The story of Christ is the truth that God requires the shedding of blood for the forgiveness of sin. If the blood shed is eternal, that is it has no beginning and no end, then it is sufficient to cover a sinner forever. Since no human posses eternal blood, none can sufficiently pay for their sins and be with God. That is the story of Jesus. That is the gift of Christmas. To walk with God on earth and to be forever in his presence after this mortal life is over faith in Jesus as the only God is needed to have his blood used to cover and pay for our sins so eternity can be spent in God's presence.  

Repentance is the result of faith in Jesus. That is simply saying to God that you agree with him, that you are a sinner and want to be free from it in your life. It means turning 180 degrees around from the path you were walking and start walking toward God. It means asking God to forgive you of your sins and asking Jesus to be your Lord and Savior from sin. That is how we can walk that beautiful walk mom had, trusting in God, not ourselves and not blaming God. 

The pin to the left here is mom's, grandma Rie's. Most of the grandchildren would never have seen mom with it marking her page in a book she was reading. But we siblings know that is the truth. It takes no faith to believe because we observed. For our children to believe the pin was moms is an act of active faith. It takes less faith than that to trust God and accept the free gift of eternal life this Christmas. You know you are a sinner and you know if you have repented or not. Receive the true gift of Christmas this year.
